Dana McSwain's Biography
Dana McSwain was born on the shores of the Great Lakes in the shadow of the Rust Belt. After self-publishing five titles in her cult favorite action-adventure series (Winter's Gambit, Winter's Roulette, Winter Unscripted, Brennan's Lament, and Bangkok Vengeance) McSwain formed her own imprint- Webb House Publishing- in 2020.
Her debut release with Webb House, the genre-bending Gothic horror novel Roseneath (2020), won four national indie awards for fiction and design, including the Benjamin Franklin Award, New York City Big Book Award, Next Generation Indie Book Award, and the Discovery Award. Her non-fiction essays have been published in Belt Magazine, Literary Cleveland, The Atherton Review, The Observer, and Scene Magazine.
Her innovative writer's workshop, "Sparking Creativity by Exploring Liminal Space," is a favorite amongst both fiction and non-fiction writers looking for novel ways to approach the dreaded blank page.
McSwain's anticipated foray into noir, the chilling short story"Bus Stop" was released in August 2023 as part of Akashic Books anthology, Cleveland Noir. The Perfect Stranger will be released in October 2024 as part of the Connecticut Literary Anthology (Woodhall Press).
